Elizabeth was Mary’s cousin. Her son, John the Baptist, became Jesus’ most passionate advocate. Perhaps he inherited this excitement from Elizabeth who once exclaimed to Mary, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!”
