Devotion to the Holy Angels (Boudon)

God has not left us alone on the road to eternity. From the moment of our creation, He has given us powerful companions — the holy angels — to guard us, guide us, and defend us against temptation and spiritual harm. They are our unseen friends, tireless intercessors, and faithful allies in the struggle for sanctity.

In this luminous spiritual classic, Fr. Henri-Marie Boudon, one of the Church’s most gifted spiritual teachers, draws back the veil on the world of the angels. With clarity, reverence, and profound insight, he reveals why devotion to the angels is not optional ornamentation in the spiritual life but a vital source of strength, protection, and peace.

Boudon shows how the angels accompany us at every moment, encouraging virtue, restraining evil, and leading us ever closer to God. Through rich metaphors, Scripture, and the wisdom of the saints, he awakens gratitude and love for these heavenly guardians who labor ceaselessly for our salvation.

In these pages, you will discover:

• How the angels help expose and counter the subtle traps of the enemy
• Practical, time-tested ways to honor and invoke the angels in daily life
• How devotion to the angels prepares the soul for Heaven by teaching us how to love God as they do
• The reverence the angels model before Christ in the Holy Eucharist — so often neglected by the world
• How angelic assistance leads to peace of soul, deeper prayer, and spiritual growth

Boudon also explores the nine choirs of angels — from the burning love of the Seraphim to the faithful guardianship of the Angels — revealing their distinct roles in God’s divine order. Traditional prayers and litanies are included to help you call upon their intercession with confidence and trust.

Rich in theology yet deeply practical, this book invites you to cultivate a living relationship with the angels through prayer, imitation of their virtues, and joyful reliance on their help. Filled with Scripture, saintly wisdom, and striking stories — some miraculous — this timeless work will align your life more closely with the realities of Heaven.
